Why the Hell Is Everyone Dancing?

WHY EVERYONE IS DANCING AT OUR FITNESS RETREAT

We honestly don’t know why everyone is dancing. All we know for sure is that there has been a marked increase in spontaneous episodes of elated gyrations, quick rhythmic movements and a boatload of smiling.

 

These outbursts are understandable when they’re part of one of our dance classes, but more and more they’re occurring at non-scheduled dancing times. People just keep breaking into their sweet groove between classes, when rest and/or hydration would be the more logical activities.

 

We can only speculate as to what caused this outburst. Maybe they’re going for a little extra burn. Maybe they’re stoked that they’re dropping pounds like they’re hot. It could be that “this is their jam,” or possibly they’re just having fun.

 

Seriously, we don’t know. But this has been happening a lot lately. Men, women, older people, younger people, on the beach, in the gym…even at meals…everyone is getting down, and it’s beginning to reach epidemic proportions.

 

Maybe when people come to a fitness retreat where they have to exercise and eat healthy foods in measured proportions, they expect to be miserable. Then they realize that doing great things for themselves makes them feel like dancing…so much so that they can’t help themselves.

 

That’s the only reason we can think of. In the meantime, we might have to limit our song selections to Air Supply…maybe some Spandau Ballet.

 

That might work…but then what are we going to do about all the laughing, hugging and high-fiving?
