LUPITA NYONG’O: BEAUTY SECRETS AND INSPIRING JOURNEY

A beautiful, kind, smart, and talented lady; Lupita Nyong’o has positioned herself on top of the charts as one of the most beautiful women in the world. Her svelte figure and her intelligence accompanied by her great taste in fashion make some of the things why we all admire her.

She won an Oscar for supporting actress in the film “12 Years of a slave” back in 2013. And was named People‘s Most Beautiful and Glamour‘s Woman of the Year.

Behind every woman there is an incredible bag of secrets which Lupita is not hesitant about sharing, this Mexican lady has worked too hard to look radiant as she does. Here is what she told Glamour Magazine in a red-carpet confession.

Her Skin. “I love using natural oils. I use avocado oil and Hawaiian Kukui Oil on my face. I like to keep things natural, simple, and straightforward.”

Her hair. “The first time I cut all my hair off was when I was 19. I just got fed up going to the salon every week. I’d had enough! On a whim, it was off. It’s low maintenance.” -coming from the greatest – this philosophy that might seem lazy has the resemblance of discipline and intellectualism.

Red carpet looks. “I love the color. I’m enjoying trying all the different shades. Makeup isn’t something I’ve worn a lot of in my life. So it’s good to work with someone like [makeup artist] Nick Barose, who is inspired by my complexion and knows how to work with it.”

“I went to an all-boys high school, and they accepted girls in only the two A.P. classes. They had these archaic rules: For example, girls couldn’t wear makeup. I found it so outrageous that an all-boys school could tell girls to not wear makeup! So I went on a campaign. I got a petition signed and everything.

If a girl wants to wear makeup to boost confidence, why not? [But] I’ve worked hard to feel beautiful in my natural skin. I don’t ever want to depend on makeup to feel beautiful.” Says Nyongo’o.

Her activism and strong beliefs about women and equality are not overnight positions she found in Hollywood, this comes from way earlier in her high school years and is very well influenced by her father; a senator and professor who once went into exile from Kenya to Mexico where Nyong’o was born.

“As soon as Lupita appeared on the scene, I thought, This is a woman I need to photobomb. She’s also an astounding actress. Oh, and a top human.” —Emma Thompson
